Off leash Dog Friendly Beach area is in the northern end of Stuart Island on the Crown Land Reserve – dogs are not permitted to chase the wildlife within the inter-tidal zone.

This is my girl & my favourite dog park/swimming area. It is a nice calm river with fantastic access to the water all round. There is also only 1 way in or out of the park…. unless you swim across the river, which is helpful if your dog isn’t great at coming when told! So far I can’t find a better spot.
