This is an average sized fenced in dog park with adequate seating, trees for shade, poo bags and some water bowls. There are usually holes in the ground from digging that haven’t been filled in so watch your step. The dogs are mostly good but there are a few that can get a bit rowdy and pushy. If you have a puppy or skittish dog, you may have to leave when they arrive. The surrounding Sir Joseph Banks park is lovely though and it is great to explore and walk through. There are lots of paved trails and wildlife so take note and always keep your dog on a leash outside the fenced area. Note the fenced park takes some walking to find it especially if you are driving into the main carpark via Tupia St. It is quicker if you park on Hayden Place and walk in but take note it can sometimes be hard to find parking.
