I went on holiday to Hardy Bay and every day we went to Putty Beach. The weather wasn’t super hot so we had the whole beach to ourselves a lot of the time (although I suspect it never gets very crowded). We did meet a few other dogs and their people, including 3 enormous hounds. There is lots of parking near the dog-friendly section and then just a short walk to the sand and shore. I highly recommend a trip to this area to check out the beach and nearby cafes at Hardy Bay, whether for a day trip or a few nights away at one of the dog friendly holiday rentals. Woof, Jelly the dog.

Lakes Beach is an off lead Dog Friendly Beach in Budgewoi. Off lead area is 500 metres north of the surf club, where you can take your dog for a run and a swim.

Entry to the dog section is the turn before lakes beach and about 500m from the lifeguards. Always dogs around and usually friendly enough dogs for everyone to be off leash 🙂

Huge off leash section of beach. We parked at the bottom of Bondi Road. No facilities and the sea was quite rough. Nice place to have a run though
