Didn’t walk that much of it, but the section near Long Jetty is very beautiful. Especially at sunset. Parking is available all along Tuggerah Parade. Picnic tables and BBQs as well. Boardwalk near Saltwater Creek Park is worth a look

Huge off leash section of beach. We parked at the bottom of Bondi Road. No facilities and the sea was quite rough. Nice place to have a run though

Off leash is south of Surfers Rd all the way to Terrigal Lagoon. Good long stretch of beach.
If you or your dog prefer calmer waters, then Terrigal lagoon has good swimming options.

One of our regular haunts. Could be a bit bigger (Jubilee Park is on leash), but having access to the harbour is great. The water can get really dirty though, especially after rain.
Off leash walk can be extended by following Johnston’s Creek to Smith, Hogan and Spindlers reserve.

Big rambling park. Difficult to work out exactly where the off leash sections are, but usually plenty of friendly locals to help. Nice little beach at Callan point if you can find it!

Best off leash park in Sydney (although Sydney Park is also really good). Stick to the perimeter and you can’t go wrong. At times it’s hard to believe you’re in the middle of Sydney.
On leash section (inside Grand Drive) is also really nice

Large enough park for a decent walk. Although I haven’t seen one yet, I’m always on the lookout for snakes as the grass is quite long. Lots of parking, but no bins or water.
Being able to have a swim is a huge bonus

Nice clean beach. I found it a little difficult to work out where the office leash section was. Lots of parking along the road or at skatepark. Can combine it with a walk along the boardwalk. Nice spot

Nice long beach and almost no surf when we were there. A little dirty though and Riff found some (I think chicken) bones, close to the caravan park, so take care!

Loved this beach!
Not huge, but a decent walk to the far end and back. Very pretty, looking out to the Solitary Islands.
Fiddamans Creek is perfect for a swim without the scary waves!
Access is via a small track starting near the toilet block. Freshwater/showers available and plenty of parking and cafes nearby

So good we came back!
This time we accessed the beach from the Southern end at Hungry Head. There are a couple of flights of steps down to the beach, no fresh water though (that I could see), but there are facilities/toilets at the nearby SLSC

Huge beach with rough sea. We had it all to ourselves although it has 4wd access and there are car tracks along it. Access is via small car park at end of Cockburn St and about 100m track. There are freshwater showers and dog bowls at the carpark which is a bonus

Big park, great spot near the city. Important to have good recall here though as lots of people use the park and there are birds in the pond. Also parts of it are near a busy road.
Only negative is that people seem incapable of using bins provided, so need to watch out for bones etc near the BBQ areas

Beach was not that sandy as I had hoped. It was quiet and we enjoyed exploring the rock pools, but preferred McCauley’s beach a little to the North.

Lovely beach, clean, very pretty. Not a huge beach, but a good size. Plenty of street parking when we were there. We had lots of fun in the creek and lagoon which is perfect for swimming.
No fresh water, so need to bring your own

We accessed the beach from Fingal Road. The dog friendly section is well sign posted, there is good parking and a longish track to the beach.

Bit tricky to find, we parked near the Tasman Holiday Parks caravan park. Not sure if that’s where you’re meant to park, but there is a track to the beach from there (don’t dally on the track as there are lots of mozzies!)
Beach is huge and absolutely beautiful.
We met about half a dozen other dog walkers there, so not too busy but not deserted either

The boardwalk is fantastic, great views over the mangroves. The beach at the end is amazing.

Beach has river as well as ocean frontage so good for swimming in calmer water.
Quite a few other dogs there, but all friendly. Good parking at the jetty end and right in town.
There’s a dog wash at the jetty end too!
