Socialise your dogs and hang out with other dog lovers as we venture down the inner-north visiting dog-friendly venues in North Melbourne and Carlton.
Venues range from a Beer Hall, a perennial pub from the 1890s with outdoor seating, and an industrial themed Belgian Beer bar. Total walking distance 1.8 km.

1st stop – Benchwarmer Beerhall
A neighborhood bar specialising in craft beers and izakaya. Benchwarmer has a well thought & extensive selection of beers, paired with tasty Japanese yakitori and snacks. For those non beer drinkers there are also wine, sake, plum wine, Yuzunade. We will be seated at the courtyard.
Benchwarmer will be serving doggie beers for all puppy pub crawl doggos. There’s also $20 “Chimkins and brrr” deal – a plate of their famous karaage (voted 2nd best fried chicken in Melbourne via Broadsheet 2022) and a 350 ml craft beer Lager or Pale Ale.

2nd stop – The Castle Hotel
Castle Hotel main bar features a wide range of tap beers with a focus on fine Belgian beers and Australian Craft beers all complemented by mainstream local classics. We will be seated at their leafy beer garden, on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle.
The Castle hotel will make a Barkarita (Pooch Margarita) for all puppy pub crawl doggos. This non-alcoholic drink will be a hit for all the pooches. Special offer you can order a matching Margarita for $15! Get us to take a photo of you and your dog drinking a matching Margarita and Barkarita!
A chilled place where the doggos can enjoy the green area. From there, we’ll walk about 1k to our next stop…

3rd stop – Queensberry Hotel
This heritage listed pub was built in 1890 has a spacious courtyard and lively vibe, pawfect for our doggo group. Enjoy a complimentary pot on arrival: Beer, Wine or Bubbly.
For those who’s looking to eat, the pub offer a special on Chicken Parma and a pot for $20. The pooches can enjoy some dog treats. This would be an ideal place for us and the pooches to wind down with drinks and dinner.
