THE EXPERIENCE
Take your doggies out on a venture around Brunswick’s dog-friendly bars! Hang out with other dog lovers as you explore local haunts, and turn an ordinary Sunday arvo into a fun day out. Venues will range between craft brewery and quirky, unpretentious pub, to prominent live music venue. Total walking distance is approximately 1.4 km.
Meet in front of the brewery 10 mins before the starting time for introduction where you’ll receive poop bag and magnet from our sponsor, First Paw Mobile Vet.
1st stop – Thunder Road Brewhouse. Awarded Champion Medium Brewery Trophy in 2014 and 2015, some of the tastiest Australian craft beers were born here, including the infamous Brunswick Bitter. A cheeky drink discount will be offered exclusively to our group.A fully-operational brewery surrounded by giant fermentation trunks, Thunder Road has offered to take our group on a tour of their beer production area.We will be seated at the front courtyard near the food truck, so you can grab some grub when you’re feeling peckish! If the weather turns, we have the option to sit at the front hallway of the brewery.
2nd stop – Charles Weston Hotel. With a spacious beer garden and cosy vibe, this laid-back pub is a dream for our furry friends. A selection of small dog treats and home-made doggie biscuits will be offered to our pups on the day. Charles Weston has a diverse range of drink selection across wines, beers, ciders and cocktails. This spring, why not have a glass of Aperol Spritz, Pisco Sour or Espresso Martini? There will be live music when we arrive, but we’ll be seated a little further from the stage so the dogs will still be comfortable.
3rd stop – Retreat Hotel. A home to Brunswick’s best live music, Retreat Hotel has three bar sections: Amelia Shaw cocktail bar, the main bar and a large beer garden courtyard. We can relax at their beer garden while our doggies enjoy a special non-alcoholic treat made exclusively by the Hotel bartender – Doggie Martinis! Our group will also be served flat bread and dips (hommus, tzatziki and guacamole) to munch on while sipping on our drinks. We encourage you and your pups to stay on for dinner here
